Tanya M. Bass, PhD, MEd, MS, CHES, CSE is a national award-winning sexuality educator and a subject matter expert in the areas of health equity and sexual health. She is an alumna of North Carolina Central University’s (NCCU) Department of Public Health Education and the Center for Human Sexuality Studies at Widener University. Dr. Bass is the Founder of the NC Sexual Health Conference and the lead instructor for Human Sexuality at NCCU.

Dr. Tanya is a highly requested trainer, facilitator, and keynote speaker. Much of her work has been in collaboration with community-based organizations, churches, academic institutions, and state and national organizations. She has served as co-chair for the 2014 National Sex Ed Conference and the 2020 and 2021 American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapist (AASECT) virtual Conferences. Tanya is a current member of the editorial board for the American Journal of Sexuality Education.

As a facilitator and trainer, audience members and training participants describe Dr. Tanya as “dynamic, energetic and captivating”. She is praised for her ability to connect with a multitude of audiences.

As a member of the North Carolina Society for Public Health Education (NCSOPHE), the Association of Black Sexologist and Clinicians (ABSC), and the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT), she remains engaged in professional growth and development. Dr. Bass is an AASECT Certified Sexuality Educator and a Certified Health Education Specialist.
